The Scottish Government have now confirmed that dental practices will be able to provide an increased range of dental services from 1st November 2020. This is positive news however unfortunately it will not be business as usual. As we remain in the midst of a pandemic we are still restricted in the number of patients we can see safely every day as there are lots of extra measures before, during and after your visit that we need to undertake in order to maintain safety. Please watch this video below from the Deputy Chief Dental Officer for general advice on the current restrictions.
At East End Orthodontics we have been working to full capacity since re-opening in June 2020. All of our patients currently in active treatment wearing braces should already have been contacted to arrange a visit. In the coming weeks and months we hope to be able see a wider range of patients including those waiting for initial assessment. We understand that the delays some patients have experienced due to the pandemic are disappointing and we would like to express a huge thanks to all of our patients and referring dentists for their patience and understanding.
In the meantime for help or advice please give us a call on 0141 763 2164. Should you have a dental emergency please call the practice during normal working hours or the NHS on 111 outside normal working hours.
If you have an upcoming appointment please read the following information carefully as there are a number of changes we need to implement to reduce the risk to you, your families and to our staff:
Please do not attend until your appointment time if possible, the door will be locked so please ring the bell for entry
Prior to your appointment you will sent a screening questionnaire to complete online or someone from the practice will call you to answer some questions to confirm you have no symptoms of Coronavirus
Patients will be required to use hand sanitiser on entering the practice everyone should wear wear a face covering unless exempt
You must maintain social distancing whilst in the practice
We will allow more time between patients to allow for cleaning, reduce waiting times and reduce footfall in the practice
Any appointments that can be conducted virtually (for example by telephone or video call) will continue this way to reduce risk of exposure
- All team members will be health screened before their shift
All team members will be wearing PPE which will include a mask, a face shield and a disposable apron
There is also some general advice about attending the orthodontist during Covid-19 which you can see on a leaflet produced by the British Orthodontic Society by clicking HERE
Unfortunately the virus is still a threat. However, we have always used universal precautions and will continue to do so. We look forward to seeing all of our patients in the not-too-distant future and wish you all well. In the meantime please have a look at this video which gives a really good idea of how things will be at your next appointment.
